Thread Starter | Waterbury Studio Build (Minnesota)
I should have started this thread months ago! Last March I began construction on a recording studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to construction I purchased Rod Gervaiss' book, Build it Like the Pros, read it three times...and then read it again! I did use a studio designer, but built the studio myself with a construction friend and other helpers. ( I was really more like his assistant). The book turned out to be priceless. The space is 2600 hundred square feet with 15-17' ceilings. The "A" room hosts the SSL 4072 console that was housed in Unique Studios in NYC. The "B" room hosts Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis's Harrison Console from their Flyte Tyme Studio C. The "C" studio at Waterbury is an overdub/ voice over booth that features a BLA modded Digi 002. Now that the studio is only consuming 18 hours a day, instead of 22, I will be posting pictures of the process. Stay tuned! Eric |

Minneapolis build thread. I am drooling! I think I know which building you are working in. Looks like a place I looked at myself to build out. I need to see this in person when its done. Also really glad you bought the Flyte Tyme board. Even though I dont know why they didn't keep them for the school, it's good to see at least one will still make its home Minneapolis. thumbsup
