New studio in Trollhättan, Sweden

New studio in the western side of Sweden. Housed inside a pretty large newly (2010) built building for cultural and educational purposes. The entire building is built from the ground up, housing club stage, orchestral room, theatrical black box, etc. etc. All which could be used in junction with the studio through MADI fiberoptics.

First pic is inside of control room A looking out into the larger recording room. Second pic is inside the recording room looking at control room B.

There's another guy taking pictures throughout the whole building process. So I'm as eager as you

New pictures:

Vocal booth, control room A and main recording room. The pictures kind of make the studio smaller and smaller than I imagined from the drawings.

The building process of the entire facility can be seen on this page: M15 Foto/Byggnation av N3

The pictures in this thread is only from the studio. The ones on the link is from the entire building.

The whole building is five stories plus an extra club scene building. A total of around 7,000 m2.

The purpose of the studio control room is to connect all major rooms in the building through fiberoptics, opting for MADI connectivity. Thus giving the studio alot more flexibility.

Question is though if it works in reality

New pictures from the hallway with small kitchen/sink/fridge, two from main control room and one from main recording room.

Not so happy about the colors of the walls. But then again, I'm not the one in charge of the construction. Actually I haven't yet seen it in real life, so it might not be that bad.

The center console for control room A is in the beginning of being built in the moment of writing. A kind of Argosys console for the Euphonix Artist series, only built in wood with walnut panels. Nice!

Yes, M15 will move to a new location and will be integrated into a new organisation called N3. So this is the new place to go to in town :-) More pictures will be posted soon

Unfortunately, the guys who set up the lighting in the control room thought that it would be a good idea to have three lightbulbs right in your face when you're mixing.

Major REDO notice for those guys. Oh well

Starting to move in equipment from the old studio next week, and hopefully the new gear will arrive shortly after.

JBMusik in Sweden. Cost, I believe, about 20,000 SEK excl. VAT, plus shipping.

The service from JBMusik was excellent, with great followups and tips during the building process. Took about two months to get it delivered.

I've done some first testing with the SSL MadiXtreme 128 audiointerface. Impressively stable drivers, I must say. I forgot though to buy a fibercable for MADI with the, just arrived, SSL Alphalink MADI AX. But I'll give it a go in the weekend.... with audio.

Also, it seemed that I got better performance with Cubase 6 by turning of Hyperthreading on the Mac Pro (2009 Dual Nehalem). Going from impossible operation with 32 samples of buffering to VERY possible operation...even with lots of Waves SSL plugins injected.

Use the following terminal command: sudo NVRAM SMT=0. A simple PRAM reset will restore the settings (or SMT=1)

The main equipment in the control room has been set up and is now fully functional. Still waiting for some additional cabling...
