I can have it...without owning it...it´s a leftover from a jazz label I cooperate with in the future...it hasn´t been used since 2004...like my siemens desk...

I will check it soon....

Thank you for this!

I had never saw these before. Now, after about an hour of laughing I feel like I'm born again.

Why are you doing this to yourself?? Why don't you just do a wood framed wall?

simple answers:

I do a double wall construction....The brickwall departs the space and adds mass....and the bricks are coming from the former floor...it´s basicly for free. In a home depot in germany 1 brick = 1 Euro.I need and have 700 bricks.Go figure

Mortar is way cheaper than a second set of wood frames insulation and 4 sheets of drywall/gybsum boards (with green glue!?) This would cost me almost 1000 Euros...agains 50 Euros mortar and labour.

Nice side effect is to form my craftsman skills.

The control room partition is going to be 100 % wood framed....Room in Room with ceiling

And

I want to have a neat looking brick wall with a window in it...

You might want to take the fäcepalm back the day you see the result...

My hand is just super dry and needs hand lotion....I was a bit naiv to think my hand could resist the chemical reaction inside the mortar. I was just to clumsy with my trowel and used my hands more than I wanted

I ´ll report evry mistake here....no matter what

Me vs. the build

have fun

I've done quite a bit of work with mortar and cement. if you do it often, your hands get used to the abuse. You can also go to the paint department at Home Depot or wherever and get some nitrile gloves.

Your project is looking good!

thank you....today I used gloves...still used my fingers though

UPDATE:

got two additional layers and the first wall anchor in...I am progressing very slowly and it´s a bit too cold for bricklaying Besides that I have problems to get the humidity out...I might build some kind of ventilation.

taxi!!!

When I was 11 this was my favorite song and cartoon!!! thanx for that

If you would watch me building only 2 rows of bricks in two hours (caused by a lack of bricklaying skills and my neurotic perfectionism) you´d change your mind

kind regards

That was more for the laughter. No way to put a grand into a couch. But I´d build it if Orange would give me a discount.

brickidy gickidy

Thankful for the very cool bricklaying tuts on Youtube I enhanced my speed to 4 rows in the same time PLUS a door frame. My bones are killing me...I´m so happy that the wall is growing and I don´t have to bend over for laying the bricks.

I bought a heater this morning...unpacked it, switched it on...and puff...smoking 10km back to the home depot and another one

note: The bricks I use aren´t all the same size...and they are bended either horizontally or vertically...this is a total time killer

enjoy...and have a wonderful weekend

Hey,
the wall looks really good! I know this type of work takes some getting used to from experience. But when one gets a feel for the material things start getting easier and more fun
do me a favor and ad some more screws to that anchor

I am on a tight budget

I have a 30 cm Nail (Zimmermannsnagel) evry 2nd row
this thing is only evry 80cm.

but the 2 heavy anchors on the doorside will be hold by 4 screws per angle due to the 55 kg doors....I promiss

kind regards
