Thread Starter | Small studio construction in Amstetten/Austria! Hi Everyone! This is my first thread here... I'm currently re-building a small studio in Amstetten/Austria. I do mostly rock & heavier stuff. My goal is offer complete productions including tracking, mixing & mastering. Alright, lets start with the last pic of my old CR: ![]() Left wall was covered with foam, back and right wall with a thick carpet over glass wool, ceiling with felt, carpet on floor. The response was quite ok, but the room was way to dead and uncomfortable. So here’s the design for the re-construction, not 100% finished, but good enough to start cutting wood. ![]() The Room’s Dimensions are 2.45 x 3.7m (8x12ft). It features flush mounted speakers (BM15a’s) in a similar design to the one that Thomas of Barefoot Sound shows in this thread: John Sayers' Recording Studio Design Forum • View topic - Monitor Flush Mounting Method Bass traps in the front, angular slot resonator walls on the back sides, absorbers on the side & roof to get a (hopefully) sweet listening spot. The first thing I did was to remove all carpets, cloth and foam from walls & ceiling, looking like this ![]() Removed boards & insulation and measured the raw room, for later comparison ![]() Starting with the construction: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Heey! Really nice lookin! And you did the work fast too! Impressive :D But i have one question... Is the room below ground? I can see dark spots on the concrete... if that is MOISTURE you can have alot of trouble since you put insulation and wood against it! in a couple of months/years there can be mold all over the insulation and the air and smell will be terrible! i had to use a special "carpet" called platon in my studio! check: Stil Got Time To Remake The Scetches! HELP ME :D Let's hope your place is not under ground ![]() Good luck! Tim |

Hi! I did some measurements. Impulse & frequency resopnse with ARTA. I also post the results of the raw room. To me it looks pretty good in comparrison, but i don't got so much experience in interpreting the results. I would really appreciate if you could tell me if you see some problems. thanx fritz |

| Gear addict | Could you post ARTA's "raw" files? -- I think it's in the *.pir format.

That's a pretty deep hole around 95Hz. How are you going to deal with that? Neil
