Vocal Booth - Home Studio

Hello every one.

I'm from Mexico City, I'm pianist and arranger and I'm quite new in this site, and I 've found it very useful

I'm starting building my home - semi pro studio, and I started building the vocal booth. It's a box in box design, inside one of my apartment's bedroom.

Here are some pics:

And happy new year to every one!

Here is the floor frame mounted over some rubber pads:

your desk is looking very clean and neat.

how long you think it'll take complete the booth in total?

Hi Jose, looks like an interesting project in deed, making studios inside apartments is always challenging due to isolation, in your case, being a vocal booth you won't be making a lot of noise coming out of your studio but the other way around, you will need to take care of the noise coming in from another apartments on up and above yours

if you have the space and chance double your fiberglass and drywall all around you, make it a double sandwich... this will help you alot in that matter

and your desk does look really nice

best of luck

I don't think you have much of a choice being in a room that size, but as for me, I think you are way to close to the back wall, and I don't see any absorbers in that wall, there should be broadband absorbers and bass traps everywhere in your room, you should avoid every early reflection and any reflection coming straight at you at all

in the other hand, if it works for you that way, then your fine, BUT, I thought I was "fine" in a room that I use to have before, and now that I'm where I am right now, I realize now how wrong I was... a treated room is a bless, believe me

I think what Jose meant is that the left and the right one appear to be swapped. If I recall correctly those monitors are supposed to be positioned with the tweeters closest to the center.

Here are some more pics of my vocal booth almost finished.

I used led lights, so the booth doesn't get so warm.
