I'm not sure why someone wouldn't want to share that.

Do you like to share all of your finances on the web? Would you tell ev erybody here how much you make a year and how much you have in your bank, or how much in loans you have? That is why nobody likes to share that info.

55,000 a year

About $2345 in the bank.

75,000 in loans (house included)

fuuck

I'm not looking for your freakin' bank statement. Just a ballpark. Whatever.

I don't think that the budget is a thing you have to hide, resp. you can tell that. But the question how you got the money is something that i wouldn't tell in public.

I feel I need to explain myself a little more. Reddog I didn't mean to be a dick, and if I could I would answer your question...... but... I unfortunately live in a country where if you have money you keep your finances to yourself. People, including my friends have been robbed or kidnapped after others found out about their finacial info/status. In the states this would be less of a problem... but here it is a legitimate security risk to me and my family.

No need to explain, Bro. The last thing I would ever want is put you or the family in danger. Holy shit, that reality wouldn't even occur to me. Please disregard this stuff and get back to the true intention of this thread - to celebrate the incredible space you've put together.

A friend of mine hasn't ever been to visit her uncle in Brazil because it would be very dangerous if they saw her last name written down on an ID or anything. But I've also heard that it's pretty common practice for people to get robbed on the way to weddings and such as well?

That said I'm really looking forward to playing some techno in Sao Paulo some day!

Common practice?
You make us out to be criminals!

But it's ok... Brasil is still fighting between 1st and 3rd world status. Crime and poverty is just part of the reality.

Stop that

Ok, sounds like the BULLLSHITE will began.

Crime is a potential problem that can happend in ANY big city of the world.
So, what's the big deal??
São Paulo is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) city in the world.

And do you know what's funny???
I'm a 30 years old guy, that was born and always live in São Paulo.
I live in a noble residencial area, so my financial status can be judges as rich.

I was robbed just ONCE in my life.... IN NEW YORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After left Sam Ash with a brand new Eventide in my hands that I never had a chance to see out of the box.
I can watch those americans 911 TV shows via my cable tv, and this kind of things happends everywhere....
From little crimes to L.A riots or ppl sending airplanes to buildings, etc

Will this make me shitee my paints if I need to com back to NY?
Hell NO tutt Nor NY, nor any other city in the whole world. You get the picture. I hope.

Please, you guys are more inteligent than that. So stop this BS.
Be low profile about your financial status is a good thing even if you live in Switzerland. Duffster is right to don't reveal his numbers.

Well, the acousticians came last week and the design has started for my mastering studio. My biggest problem is low ceiling which will really suck.... but work with what you've got. I am already mastering almost every project that leaves the place and we are in desperate need of an editing room so time to start working inthe other spaces. I will post pics as soon as it starts.

Sao Paulo has the best food I've ever eaten!

I would love the budget to record a record over in Brazil... the vibe of even a street corner was inspiring to me! Just got to find the right act to do it with... the studio choices look pretty good.

Hi, Duffster. It looks really cool!

Those perforated boards are they used as diffusers? Can you please tell me what the advantage is to use such a diffuser except for the cool look?

Thanks, and keep up the good work!

One part still in the back is still not complete. Behind the monitors are two angled walls that are actually bass traps. Where else would you put them?

This is the best explanation I have found in English:

"The perforated panel systems provide efficient acoustic absorption in the low mid frequency range, while proving a degree of scattering/diffusion at higher frequencies.

The absorption characteristics of the perforated panels vary depending on the distance they are supported away from a solid boundary. The closer to the boundary, the lower the overall absorption at higher frequencies.

The panels can be mounted at an angle to the room boundaries to reduce effects such as "flutter echo".

When arrayed in groups in front of a solid, flat boundary, the diffusion effect of the panels extends to the lower mid frequencies."
