chicago burbs basement studio

hey every one.

ive been collecting construction photos of our studio. In the next few days i hope to have them sorted out on a time line. for now here is a basic print i whip out using sketchup. the white dashes are where doors are and the boxes on the walls are windows.

check back often because i have a ton of photos and info. we welcome any suggestions especially regarding bass traps, diffuser placement, cable routing etc...

Thanks

This junction box houses all the audio cables. The PVC pipes on the right will lead to custom patch bays.

Unfortunately, the sump pump is in the corner of the control room but we are going to put a box over it and use the box as a table.

I wanted to point out that originally the air vents were solid duct work but we have replaced that with insulated tubing. This will help cut the noise down (especially harmonic resonating).

Here are the beginning stages of drywalling. We used double layer 5/8" on the ceilings and the walls. In some areas we have used backer board instead of drywall so we can an easier way to anchor shelves and other crap off the walls.

Here are some angles from the live room.
picture 1: Looking from the drum corner
picture 2: Looking at the wall (which is only framed at the moment) where the amp closets will be.
Picture 1 and 4: Note the shop vac (vacuum cleaner), that's where the bathroom will go.

*Gear update*

After construction, we plan to get 2 MOTU 24io and a 40 channel Allen Heath GL2400. I have fallen in love with REAPER and plan to use that as the primary DAW. Ofcourse, we will have ProTools as a standby for exporting and etc...

Thoughts?
