the false floor is done, so is all the drywall work

I'm so disappointed cause the original floor on the live room which actually was a patio, it was so uneven that I lose too damn much in height by leveling it, it took away about 6 inches including the poles themselves... man, I wanted to bite someone,

any way, it's done, the final wood finish hasn't been applied yet

here are some pics

thanx you guys... I'm now waiting for the acoustic treatment design and build to start doing my traps and stuff, we are still trying to figure out how to treat the rather small live room so it will sound great without losing to much space, it only has 3.65 x 2.7 with 2.5 meters in height

I don't want it any smaller

I'm not posting any updates cause all the traps, panels, etc are being built and it will take a few weeks, though I'll be updating the advance as the pieces arrive
I'm running out of money too damn fast, I am so freaking out right now but I'll sort it out

Maybe we will have a door tomorrow yaaaaay!

Thanks

here is a so called update

not too much things had happened within the studio in the las few days, only rain leakage that I hope today was taken care of

and some of the acoustic treatment fiberglass and wood it's been taken into the studio meanwhile some more stuff is being prepared, hopefully in 3 days acoustic treatment will officially start IN the studio

here are some pics... man my studio looks so much smaller in the pics than what really is, have this happen to you or I'm just in denial of my studio actually been tiny micro studio???

anyway it's my studio and I'm so in love with it

you can see some marks on the floor where the mixer will be placed, just like the book says, at 38% (or so) from the front wall to avoid being in the middle of the room, which is so hard to accomplish cause it is so small

they are tuned bass traps so there are the tubes with the...(I don't know the word) thingys inside for the room mode or frequency

here are the pics

meanwhile we are figuring out the damn rain leaking

by the way, please excuse me, the pics where taken with a cel phone

update

not much, just the large panels for the recording room (no longer called live room, it won't be live at all )

there is still left to do the back wall panel, the ceiling and the front window wall panel

the control room is still undone

I'm having serious thoughts on how to treat the ceiling on the recording room, the current plan is to cover all of the ceiling with fiberglass and a fabric just like a big bass trap, and then adding clouds of hard wood as diffusers so the room won't be too dull or dark sounding, the issue here is that I'll lose quite a few inches in the process and I am just seek of watching my small room getting smaller

any thoughts? suggestions? hello? anyone? anybody home?

thanks

I'm still watching dude! I'd say finish what you are doing and then see how it sounds instead of trying to second guess. That way you can treat to deal with any issues rather than just guessing.

hi again,

this is what went down today

it was all about the recording room ceiling, the frame that will hold the fiberglass and the curved wood clouds that will do some reflection and diffusion

here are the pics

by the way, I haven't found the way to add a text to each picture attached like I've seen in many posts here, do you know how is it done?

thanx

P.S.
Tomorrow we will get all the fabrics for the walls and traps, and the wood for the finish on the back wall of the recording room, it will do a slight diffusion as well as giving a nice look to it, so, no pics till monday... see you then,

have a nice weekend ya'll

hello again my dear fellow slutz

all of the recording room framing is done, the fiberglass for each frame is in order, so it is the fabric for the recording room

and the panels in the control room are being built now, all of them will have fiberglass and the are all angled to reshape the control room walls

here are the pics

basstraps cylinders tuned

I've never seen this before so I was thrilled, and I wanted to show you how did this type of basstraps are made or at least are being made for my studio

it is a large cylinder (paper) with a hole in the lower end of a specific diameter, then a smaller plastic cylinder with a certain length and diameter (so it works with the appropriate frequency for each room) is put inside the larger one in that lower end, very cool stuff

all of the length and diameters for the cylinder were calculated (god knows how) by the acoustic treatment designer, all I can do is trust the mo'fo he's pretty good and he's a great guy

here is a sequence of pics of the assembling

boys

today the wall panel for the connectors in the dead room was built, so I took a photo session of the making... not much things to do right?

anyway, the fabric in the "dead"room is almost done, now it's starting to look cool

I couldn't help to take a pic in a more than funny angle of Hugo De la Rosa who is in charge of the acoustic treatment built, he is such a nice fella that he pose for us

plus, the panels for the control room are almost done now, we are getting closer and closer
