hi guys, I have encountered some noise problems at my studio...

the damn apple display causes a high pitched noise as soon it turns on, I can't get rid of it... plus some hum noise that I'm trying to figure out, I'm thinking it comes from the unbalanced behringer patchbay I have right now, I haven't been able to get a proper TT balanced patchbay, I need to get it soon

anyway, i wanted to share a short video of myself recording a guitar solo for a new track with my band, all of what you can hear on that was recorded in the studio... it's only what the camera captured but it sounds cool and fun, I hope you like it

Nice, but as you said, "short". Would be great to see a ten minute video of your place. This was a great build thread.

Hope you got your hum issue solved.

All the best.

Beautiful build! Now that you've been working in it a while, tell us what you hear. I like your drum clip. Nice kit.

thanx mate, I'll try to do a longer video in a session or something

and nope, I haven't found the damn source of that hum... it is not that bad but it shouldn't be there and it's driving me crazy

thank u my friend

I don't plan to do drums regularly in here, I'd rather go to bigger rooms for that, although I've done nice drum recordings here in the last few months, not bad at all, but for the rest of it, guitars, bass, vocals, acoustic, It has been lovely, so accurate and very "in your face" sounding, I can't be happier

though I need to address some other needs, like preamps, and some other outboard processing, mics, a pro patchbay, better ADC, etc etc the never ending story here mate...

last Christmas I upgraded to a Mac Pro Nehalem quad and wow, what a difference coming from a G5 single

so, here we are, baby steps!!!

here are some pics from a recent session for a hard rock band I produced, it sounded pretty cool...

I haven't been able to build proper stands for the speakers yet, but so far it hasn't been a problem having them placed over the meter bridge in the console comb filtering wise

Hey Toño. Congratulations! Your studio is not only gorgeous, but great sounding.

I'm from Guatemala, and want to start my own studio build soon. Your studio has been an inspiration for me, since I also have limited space. But now you've given me the confidence that I can get a nice sounding studio even with this limitation.

My wife is from Mexico DF. We go there at least once a year. Maybe I can visit you next time.

Small world. A few years ago I met a former guitar player from Coda, who was the boyfriend of my wife's friend. Don't remember his name, but I'll ask.

Keep up the good work, and post more music you've recorded in your studio.

By the way, what's the name you finally decided for the studio?

Hey hi

thanx, yes it is possible to get a nice sounding space even though it's smaller than the usual spaces... you'll need to get a good studio designer to get the proper measurements and find out the right frequencies to work on and control at your specific rooms

regarding coda, well it has been kinda of a joke since the original band split in 2000, the original members have not being in any of the versions that came later on and I don't have a clue on who's been there or who doesn't really...

anyway, good luck on your studio built, post a thread of it here and enjoy

I haven't change the name of the studio, it's just TR Mix Room here's the website TR Mix Room

cheers mate!!
