Yes we are going with custom desk, no point spending loads of money for ready ones. It will take time but at the end it will be cheap and efficient.

I went with Euphonix because at the moment is the most compatible and good quality build for its price and i believe it will be efficient for any engineer that may come to work. About the compatibility issues i had a look at the threads before buying it (thanks for mention that) and i waited some months so i could get the new version (i hope!!!) but again i am sure that our supplier will do his best if any problems occur.

The ceiling panel supports for the diffusers and the absorbers are done. We installed also the door for the warehouse. There is also a photo of the outside of the studio (3rd floor white windows). Sorry for the garbage bins (at least you cant smell them)

Hi G.E.

We are going to have a total of 18 diffusers on the ceiling. The idea is to make the room sound live so we follow some kind of symmetry. The place for each instrument in the recording is not fixed so we can place them whenever we want and ''record'' the acoustics of the room as well as the instrument, this is a job for the matched paired earthworks Earthworks - M30 - 5hz to 30khz Measurement Microphone that i got for the acoustic measurements. The overall idea is a more uniform sound than just the dry sound of the instrument

Future step is some screen panels (similar with the ones you made, very cool by the way) with adjustable diffusers, absorbers and reflectors for variable acoustics

Quick update

The meeting with the gear suppliers went as planned. Now we need to make the list with the gear we need to be ready for a decent recording-tracking, mixing and mastering. If everything goes by the plan (cross fingers) in June-July the control room will be ready

We need to reduce the noise at the lounge from the HVAC unit. So we are going to built a roof with Rockwool like the roof panels at the live room

The metal supports arrived and we need to assembly them to put the rockwool next

Your drop ceiling frame looks really sturdy and , for lack of a better term, "industrial" who makes that? I like it.

Great looking space so far thumbsup

Thanks thenoiseflower

I actually had to look in the dictionary for the ''sturdy'' (didnt knew this word)

We just went to a factory that provides metal profile and they bend it for us, it is not rocket science. This is what this factories do and they are happy to do it if you have some meters as an order (not just 2m, they will start laughing)

Then you just hire someone with experience in normal rate and do the installation

Advantages!!!!

1. You can design any shape

2. You dont need to paint it, if it is stainless steel

3. It looks much better than market acoustical products

4. YOU DONT PAY A FORTUNE BUYING MARKET ACOUSTICAL PRODUCTS

I thank you guys for the comments, i think for me it is a good experience and i hope for the rest of you is a feedback that things can be done a lot cheaper that they look.

The same rules will apply when we open in June, music is the real deal here, I not saying i am an activist but i dont think you need a fortune to record an album. The prices the last decades were hilarious i think. Now with new technology competition is making professionals to offer good deals.

We started painting the live room (primer coat). We made an access point for the cables (just in case something happens!!!). The custom drumskin arrived yesterday, i think it will be a nice advertisement for the studio, this what the bands will get for free, with their band name written on, when they sign in our label.

Great build so far Nikolas.

It´s really fantastic to see a great recording place take shape!

I have had the opportunity to go to Eduardo Apolonia´s studio from the "I started to build a small studio" thread after it was finished and it really is a great recording place.

By the way what are your QRD´s made from? Blue wallmate polystyrene?
