Yup...anything that makes work easier and more practical in a studio - belongs in a studio. Simple as that.

Thanks for the kind words. At the moment we are using Logic and Nuendo. The Euphonix works fine, you just need to make sure that the order when you open all the devices is correct (Mac, Pro, converters and Euphonix) since there are a lot of ip addresses now.

According with Trevor J. Cox and Peter D'Antonio page 236 chapter 9.3 from the book ''Acoustic Absorbers and Diffusers'' (by the way very good book if you want to buy it)
thats an expensive book.....around a 100 pounds looks pretty comprehensive though...

i had been thinking about getting a good on book on diffusion and absorption....guess ill have to save my money for a bit....

im really liking this design in your control room nikolas. thumbsup

i have a couple questions.....

whats the thickness of the rockwool for the wall panels ad the corner traps?

is there an air gap behind the bass traps panels mounted on the wall/ceiling and floor/wall corners? i had intially thought that you had cut the rockwool in triangles and stacked them side by side for the corners...but looking more closely i can see that its a solid piece.

i was thinking to build my studio traps exactly how you them in your control room, but was going to cut the pieces in triangles, so that it would be solid insulation from the front of the trap to the wall...or is it better to have an air gap?

also, is there any kind of reflective material on the rockwool for the traps, so as to not make the room too dead?

There is a gap at the back

Solid pieces will cost you more but it will not follow the rule 3x more rockwool 3x more absorption

There is a glass-fiber in the front but it works more at the higher frequencies

I am glad you like the build

Hi cedric

Yes, 4 cameras (with night vision), 1 monitor (a cheap one) and a hard drive recorder (it does everything on its own, split screen, record, change cameras, etc)

My advise is find a shop with electronics and ask for an installation quote, the dedicated security companies are more expensive.

We just use it to keep a record just in case something is missing (crossed fingers) or to check the video records in case of a break in.

The metal trim on the control room ceiling and corner treatment looks really cool, can you talk about how you did this? (sorry if you already answered this earlier in the thread).

I LOVE how your desk looks, but I noticed rack mounted equipment UNDER the desk. Are you worried that it's going to get kicked by people working at the desk? I'd be terrified.
