ITB/Hybrid workstation

Thought I'd share the workstation that I just had built. A GS buddy of mine designed it and I had a carpenter put it together. We're gonna make some tube steel speaker stands so the speakers can be placed above the racktops without touching them. The workflow is awesome.

Speakers are currently set way too wide. Should be set vertically, and fully inside their current position, to get an accurate left-center-right balance without phasing issues at the mix position. Tilt forward to get them on-axis, and beware of comb filtering off the desktop part. Mopads are all you need.

Thanks for the advise, I'm still playing with the positioning. I just set them up at about the same position as they were on the console that I replaced and I know it's against the grain but they sounded better on their side.

I'll try the things you mentioned but so far they sound a lot better than when they were on the console which was 1 big comb filter plus I'm able to bring the workstation out farther from the wall than my console which has helped in the bass region a lot.

Comb filtering can actually sound very nice in fact. But unfortunately you're the only one who will hear it that way.

For $40 I would start with mopads...they will always be useful. I see you have the sub off to the right.

All I really care about is being able to hear as well as possible, and ideally, the ability to tweak settings from the sweetspot. I have an omnirax commander (10yrs old, still great) which leaves me in similar arrangement to yours, although I also have an 88 key controller across the front.
