| almost rectangle my control room is essentially a rectangle with one corner cut at a 45degree angle. Is this better or worse than straight rrectangle

| Lives for gear | Hey fellow Mainah You don't give a lot of detail, but that room should be workable. It's probably not as good as a rectangle in terms of symmetry, but that room shape may be better for bass. Depends on a lot of factors, dimensions, room layout, etc. Standard rules apply, make a RFZ, bass traps in corners, etc.

| I agree with jwl, and I'll add that when rooms are cut off this way the downside is there's no corner there to put bass traps. I've seen this done on purpose many times, but I always advise against it. But if this is what you have, you can still treat the other corners, including ceiling corners, and end up with a perfectly fine room. (Assuming the room is large enough, which you didn't say.) --Ethan

| here are the dimenioins not too good 13 ft length 10 ft wide 7 ft high the angle cut off is a doorway so its about 3ft angle we got bass traps in all corners and diffusors in the ceiling above the mix position as well as auralex foam panels at the mirror points on the side walls and on the back wall and front wall. also we only use nearfield monitors
