| week 9 Thanks Stick - we're really happy the way the floor turned out. It actually looks even better in reality... ![]() Regarding the doors I would say bulletproof is underestimating their capabilities - we ordered them to withstand acoutic nightmares!! ![]() This week was the last week of construction (at least the dusty dirty part of it): Drywall builders left on Wednesday and HVAC was also finished this week. Some parts of the electric installation still needs to be finished - including final measurements of the CAT cables for the LAN. HVAC will go 'on air' next week after the electric instalation is finished. DSL modem, Wireless LAN and the FTP server have already been setup. The file server should arrive next week. We finally received our shipping from sterling modular, which took a lot longer than we thought because of all the terror paranoia - for some reason US authorities are also concerned when goods leave the country, don't ask me... Finally - as I'm writing this there should be some basic cleaning going on so from now on we should be clean. Still missing/to do's: * windows should get installed next week * the carpenter has to install and build the acoustic panels (he allready started this week) * some of the studio walls need a final layer of paint, some parts need laquer... * all sorts of patch bays and panels need to be soldered, furniture and equipement needs to be built, moved or installed. Here are some pics of last week: * 5.1 Control without acoustics * Entrance - almost done * HVAC ducts outside * Philipp installing the FTP Server * Sterling Modular shipping arrived!! |

Yes we are very excited about this, but for me personally the really exciting part is about to start - turning these very well isolated rooms into real studios... The last couple of days I've spent quite some time in the rooms installing the consoles and racks we received from sterling modular. Working on the consoles I got a first impression on how the rooms 'feel'. I have to say even without the acoustic treatment the rooms already have very controlled acoustics and I feel comfortable spending lots of time there - which I think is a pretty important aspect of a studio. ![]() Yesterday we received our shipping from RPG and today the carpenter will start installing tem, so we are definitely on our way of turning this place into a studio. ![]() I'll post some pics later when there is time... | ||

| Hi Mischa, looking good, I just remember putting the sterling-modular rack together ... one thing that annoys me is that the top ( inside ) of the 19 inch rack is not black ( I can see it in you're picture also ) .. but you look into the mdf .. even when fillling with a blank-pannel .. just last week I painted them black .. now it's okay ..... otherwise cool-place ..... enjoy ..... |

| week 10 Last week has been a little slower than the previous ones... Our electrician, the carpenter and the painter are the last workers to finish. The HVAC is comissioned and working - now it's nice and warm in the studio. Our order from RPG finally arrived on site, as have most of the materials for the room acoustics. I started bringing some of the packages with the Equipement that have arrived during the last weeks and we started unpacking and installing some of it. The pics: * Reception / client lounge close to finished * Shipping from RPG * Some wall panels * Wood ceiling in the mastering room |
