When did you order the Redco cables?

I'm also waiting for cables from them, but it's taking a lot of time for them to have the order done.

And it's hard to get them to reply to my emails

Hey, thanks! Yes, ordered the cables back on the 12th of december or so. It's a huge order, and I bet yours is too. It's funny, I guess the two of us are battling for our cables. When did you order yours? We could have a race to see who gets theirs first

Damnit Jules, you got me all excited and then take it away. You are an evil, merciless gear God!

Although, we incorporated back in march.

We're called Post/War Studios.

AMIEL -- thanks, I'm really digging the red and black mixing together too. Yes, we built frames for each trap ... using 1x4's. It was actually a recommendation by Bryan over at GIK. Then we covered the entire frame with the fabric.

And as for cable ...I don't even know how many .. but it was a lot. We are doing a lot of snaking this time around to get rid of clutter ... so that kept it minimal, but there's still quite a bit going on.

For the time that I order mine I should win the race easily

After some emails that started in the end of October, I confirmed the order in the 15th of November.
And then added some little things on the 20th and 29th of November and also on the 8th of December.

The last time I received an email from them was on the 23rd of December, I sent 3 emails after that with no reply.

I hear everybody talk very good about Redco but my experience isn't being very good, Maybe I'm having bad luck. I don't think that they normally work like this, otherwise they wouldn't have the reputation that they have

Eduardo, this is not the norm. I ordered 2 custom made cables from them(nothing special) and it took 2 weeks before my order shipped.

They are usually right on top of things.. Must be busy over there.

Well being buys isn't any excuse for poor customer service. Not letting a client know the status of their order is a MAJOR taboo in my mind. Busy or not it would make me look elsewhere. Very uncool. I think both of these posters need to start raising some serious hell with Redco!

Eduardo, perhaps your order is much bigger than ours -- I already have half the cables we're using at the studio ... so perhaps yours is huge, or they needed to special order some things in? But yes, it's strange that you haven't been able to get ahold of them. I'd do some phoning.

My order is pretty big (I think):

It's equivalent to 39 8ch snakes + panels and misc stuff.

I followed your advice and tried to call them today, but they're only open Mon to Fri.

I'll have to wait until Monday to call them and know what is happening.

Well, the Redco order arrived. Wow, those 16-channel Mogami snakes are nice big fat bastards. Redco did a bang up job of all the cables, as per their reputation. The TT-DSUB patchbays arrived as well. A true moron, I've realised I forgot to buy TT patch cables for the new bays. IDIOT. Oh well, back to Redco.

We were at the studio until 12:30 last night starting the wiring process. Going to be there all night too, and then I think we'll be wired up. I'll try to take a good shot of the desk once we finish filling in the various holes. I want it to look pretty for you boys and girls.

That's just our little siderack that'll hold the Apogees, the Crane Song Avocet rackmount unit, our midi interface (midisport 8x8) and a Focusrite Saffire Pro which we use for our headphone mixes.

The MAIN gear shots are stlil to come ... if we can figure out how to get it all together tonight. Stay tuned ;-)

Nice!!!

It seems that you're order is smaller than mine. But that's not a reason for them to take more than a 1 month to do mine.

After some phone calls, voice mail messages and emails that didn't arrive, (it seems that they were having problems with the email server), I just received an email from Chris as I was typing this.
It changed this post that I was writing... I wasn't very happy

He told me last week that the order would be ready this week, and now he tells me on this email that it will take 1 more week.

I'll have to wait...

That's really weird Eduardo, but yes, sounds like your order is more involved than mine was. A month is indeed pretty crazy, but it's pretty out of character for them, so I imagine it's something to do with parts?

I hope you get your stuff soon!!

Well, here's a milestone for ya. We finished wiring up our desk, and finished the embedding of gear. It's looking pretty gorgeous if I do say so myself.

Still have a few things to do. Going to curtain in those cables on the floor so they're out of view. Also have to get some blank panels for those last two 500 series slots. Unless anyone has a couple of "happy opening" gifts they'd like to send? We'd love a couple more EQs. Tee-hee.

One of the coolest things is the embedded Crane Song Avocet controller on the right side, above the armrest. But really everything is so well laid out, I had a hard time leaving tonight, I just wanted to stare for a while, after months and months and months.

We're pretty proud!

It looks fantastic! Should be a lot of fun working there.

Honestly, I think the Mackie controllers don't fit there.
