Question Any experience with flaschophon?

I have to record a band using a flaschophon. I never heard of that.
Does anybody have any experiences with this instrument? How to mike them up best?

"Flasche" is German for "bottle". Do a google search, it seems to be tuned bottles struck in one manner or another.

Check out this Google image search result; scroll down and there's a brief, interesting clip.

Finally somebody added a post to this sub-forum...I'd hate to see it go away...

Go to downloads - demotracks at www.md-mics.com
There`s a very interesting sound sample of a Flaschophon (http://www.md-mics.com/flaschophon.mp3).
