Didgeridoo cleaning???....Can it be done?

Tried searching to find out how a didgeridoo can be cleaned,
but no luck.
There is one for sale locally at a pretty cheap price.
My concern is cleaning the instrument without ruining it.
Naturally,...No one really wants to put their mouth on somethin'
you really do not know where it's been.
Is it possible to clean this instrument inside and out,
without damage?
I've been wanting one these for my studio, for quite some time now,
and the price is right.
Anyone?

Anyone???

Anyone know if this is possible?
Would really like to purchase this instrument,
before someone else does.
Just don't want a second hand Didgeridoo with
gunks of slobber in it.
I'd like to know if it could be cleaned inside and out,
without hurting the instrument.

Interesting question. I play didge myself too, but never cleaned the thing.

Well, how about using air (compressor)? I wouldn't use much water, and I wouldn't use any toxic liquids. Antiseptic spray could work; it dispers quite quickly too. I use it to clean my trumpet mouthpiece often.

Ofcourse, take all old beeswax away and put new instead.

My thoughts...

Depends where you are in the world, but LA Outback stock didgeridoos (don't forget they are a tuned instrument) in many keys and types.

Cds of Didge music and a cleaning fluid is found here. Didgeridoo Cleansing Spray Didgeri-Clean

Perhaps some rubbing alcohol poured through it? I'm sure there is a ton of dried saliva in there, mine even drips it out after a practice. Since it was hollowed out by termites, there's a probably a honeycomb of nasty stuff in there anyways...

alcohol may be too harsh on the wood as most didgeridoos are not sealed internally. Tea tree Oil is far better for this. Though in 17 years of playing I haven't cleaned instruments internally.

Bees wax is antiseptic on it's own and try to buy wax from a local bee keeper as it will be much nicer to use.
