Much to my surprise I discovered that the vuvuleza was my first musical instrument. They were sold at the University of Michigan stadium as "stadium horns" and I got my parents to buy one in about 1965. It played only one note. I liked it because it required no skill and was loud. I can't imagine what an entire stadium full of those things would sound like.
