PT9 won't open...

hey guys, i just recently got an m-box 3 mini for my MBP and after installation, my PT 9 won’t open. it was working a few days ago and i don’t know what to do.

i checked my trash bin or any clues and found a folder named “session file backups”. i don’t know how this got there but could this be the reason why my PT doesn’t open up*

anymore? can someone tell me where i need to move this file to restore it?

could you suggest some things to try? i am new to DAW’s and am extremely frustrated.

i was messing around with some sound options and audio midi preferences trying to get it to work, eventually uninstalled mbox drivers hoping it'd work again to no avail.

does anyone know what might cause PT to not open all of a sudden?

thanks in advance,

-D

Followed all steps,

Couldn't find this exact file -

- ProTools…vX.X Preferences (this may be either ProTools LE or TDM, and any version, such as 6.4 or 7.1).

I did see the file with same name except that it was w/o the vX.X in file name, no other file was similar.

Emptied trash bin... still won't open.

Do you think the file I found in the trash had anything to do with it?

to my understanding, your session file back ups wont have anything to do weather or not a session, let alone protools will open. basically your session file back up folder is your auto saves so you can go back to previous versions of the project. also the session file back up folder belongs with whatever session it came from. so search your sessions and when you find one that doesnt have backup folder you found where it belongs.

I have never used a mbox. sry cant help there.

hold the "N" key while pro tools is opening. Can you get to the playback engine screen?

No, I can't. PT logo never pops up either.

I would uninstall pt. Install it again, download current drivers from the website and see what happens.
