808 bass or?

Hey!

I have been looking for so long now and i cant seem to replicate this bass-line!

I've figured out how to make the low end with a simple 808 kick but the more mid dirty growl/gritty sort of bass i cant find how on earth this man does it.

Can someone please help a brother out?

Here are the two examples
Stafford Brothers Ft. Lil Wayne & Christina Milan - Hello (Will Sparks Remix) - YouTube

Will Sparks - Ah Yeah! (Original Mix) - YouTube

This genre is blowing up in melbourne and is defined as "bangers" but i do not really know what the genre is...

also if anybody has any tips on producing this kind of music that would be great

Thanks Bricked

it sounds smooth like a sine wave. then distort it or try modifying it with a sawtooth. i don't think that there's a kick involved in the bassline.

I have tried that. In many different ways too :( still nothing

Edit: and I'm pretty sure its a layered bass, the low end of the bass is a standard 808 kick with compression to give it that bouncy feeling. But the low-mid gritty bass sitting on top of it i still cant seem to wrap my head around it.

hey man, it's just a general run of the mill saw tooth. any subtractive synth will do it.. this sound could have been done in massive. it sounds like its got some chorus on it, or maybe the dimension expander.

lol @ high doubts.. i didn't take a random stab in the dark... it wasn't a guess.. IT IS. it's synthesis 101, the very first sound you will hear when you delve into synthesis. the basic of the basics. any basic synth will give you it and no doubt, minus a few tweaks, the sound you hear will be the default patch in most synths

i didn't doubt your advice, i doubted myself in taking the advice and using it.

Which i shouldn't have because i think i may have recreated it thanks to what you said, id tried a saw wave in massive before but i was so hyped with how good the 808 kick sounded that i disregarded all use of synthesizing.

i appreciate your advice so much, thank you.

When im finished mastering it would you like to hear it?
