top tips for a rookie like moi!

hello,
I bought a tascam dp24 and some Akg headphones with a se2200a microphone in the summer, im looking to record my beatboxing and my acoustic guitar. im planning on having a gap year to do lots of things that i wanna do like record my music, i record in my own room and hace been playing guitar for about two years and have also been writing my own music also. do you think i could actually have the capacity to make an EP on a tascam dp24 or would it be better to use a recording studio? i have been recording my own stuff but it seems i have a lot to learn and sometimes struggle.

You already own the gear so may as well use it to build your songs up. You could do an EP but getting professional sounds requires lots of experience so you may step up to a studio later.

Using a studio comes with being 100% prepared with finished arrangements so take the time to get your stuff together first.

You may also want to get a dynamic mic like an sm58 or green bullet (if you like distortion) for your beat boxing.
