FWIW I don't buy into one cable being far superior to another. I've used many different brands. The cable either works or it doesn't.
AFA 'matching' cables to mics, pres to mics, etc etc etc... why do people believe that these items are "designed" to work with "x y or z"?? If a mic has an XLR out, it is solely "designed" to work with an XLR cable. Not a particular brand of cable.
I know this is a common thing here on GS, and tons of people have made offhanded remarks about how silly this whole "matching" concept is.
But the question remains, "Who is perpetuating this stuff with the noobs?" Is it advertising, salesmen, instructors? Who??
