| Getting Into the Video Game Industry
Hey everyone! My name is Faris, and I'm new to the forums. I apologize if this topic doesn't belong here, but it seemed like my best bet.
Anyways, I'm a Music Technology student about to get my Associate's in a few months, and I'm looking into getting my foot in the door in the video game industry. I've found a few places nearby that are looking for game music composers/sound designers, which is pretty much my ideal job. However, I have no real world experience yet, and really don't have much to put on my resume. The best I can do right now is show them the music I've produced, just to give them an idea of what I'm capable of, production-wise.
Is there anyone here with experience in this field who can shed some light on this for me? Should I go for these jobs right out of school, or should I look into interning first?
Thanks!
