Mixers/DI boxes

I have a soundcraft LX7, http://www.soundcraft.com/downloads/..._guides&id=156
I'm also using a Boss BR-532, http://media.rolandus.com/manuals/BR-532_OM.pdf
I'm using the headphone out on the boss, directly to line in on the mixer, should I be using a DI box before the mixer? It sounds good, Gain is at Unity, is it going to make much difference using a di box? Thanks

Why do you not use the line out on the BR532, that way you can monitor with your headphones as well.

A line out running to a line in is fine, no need for a DI. If its sounding ok then it probably is ok.

Line out on the BR 532 is RCA, the RCA/tape in on the mixer replaces the mix output, therefor I can't mix other instruments or music with my BR 532, using the headphone out on the 532 in to a line channel on the mixer allows me to do this, it sounds really good, is a DI box necessary?

No I don't think it's needed. A DI generally only lifts and instrument level to line level, but the headphone out is a line level signal going into a line input in the mixer.

If it sounds good then run with it

DI changes instrument or line level to mic level.

Headphones out is stereo going to a mono line in. Unless you're using a TRS to 2 mono TS cable it's wrong.

RCA to 1/4 TS to a pair of line ins would be the best way.
