RODE NT1A vocals and pop flter

Hi
Am using a RODE NT1A to record some vocals. Could anyone familiar with this mic tell me if it is necessary to ALWAYS use the supplied pop filter...or is it a common practice to sometimes do without.

Maybe do some research on what a pop-filter does and then form an opinion using common sense?

The reason for not using a pop filter are not what you think. And yes I do know what its used for

I pretty much only use the pop filter if I'm recording vocals and Hammond organ thru a Leslie.

For vocals its not only to reduce pop, but to prevent spit from your mouth getting to the capsule. Which will really mess up your mic over time.

I use it on Hammon thru a Leslie sometimes, when close micing, to reduce 'wind' noise from the moving rotors.
