What mixer should be next?

I'm currently utilizing a Mackie 28x8 and a Mackie SR32x4 for my music work. Seeking a unified solution, instead of multiple boards. What mixer / console should I look to with a modest budget? (2/5k)
Used is more than fine, and I would need at least 40 channels.

Any input?

I don't have a whole lot of experiance with larger boards (my main board is a Mackie CR-1644) the church that I atten has an Allen and Heath GL3800 with 48 channels and it has been an amazing and reliable board dor a long time. Maybe look into their GL2400 series?
