No idea what to say to university rep that wants to talk to me about my career goals

Wasn't sure where to post this thread, move it if necessary.

I wanted to study audio production/engineering. I was pretty set on that. But over time I realized that going for audio engineering degree is kind of useless.
For one everyone is doing their own editing nowadays, less use of a studio, record companies are gonna fall apart etc...
and everyone wants to go into that so the market is over-saturated.

After talking to students and people in the field, I've found that show production is what is best, it involves audio and sound but is also lighting and effects.
It's live editing, you can work with bands or in a bar, or just fixing equipment or setting up spaces for events and so on.

Not gonna go into much detail. but I've been convinced to go for that rather than audio engineering.

But the thing is, as interesting as it is and as I know it's the right thing for me to chose.
I've never thought about it much and a university representative will call me later to ask me about my career goals and so on and I'm not gonna know what to say to her.

If I talk about how I chose that degree because it's a better choice than audio, it'll look like I don't know what I want and I'm just doing it because it's better and not because I want it.
I would like to work doing live sound editing, that does sound fun, but I've always seen myself in a studio somehow.

A guy from the uni that I spoke to said I could probably get a job in a studio anyway since we do audio as well, there's enough courses.
But now that I think about it, working in a bar with a band sounds great too and that's probably something my degree can help me with!

Ideas?

I really hope someone can help me cause this is an audio forum and all but I didn't know who or where else to ask and remembered being signed up here.

Here's an overview of the degree if anyone is interested to give feedback if they think it's a good idea or not.
Introduction to Media Arts Course : Full Sail

I spoke to my sisters friend that works in a studio in Toronto and he said that it's a great uni, they hired from there and were happy with the experience/knowledge gained by students.

I wouldn't have a problem if you told me that you decided on that major because of the career opportunities. It shows that you actually did some research on what might be your best option, instead of just going with your first instinct and ignoring the other factors.

A lot of the same basic principals from live are applied to the studio. I'm sure it won't be too hard to learn the studio side of it.
