Using Logic plug-in in Pro Tools?

So I am in the process of recording a song in Pro Tools, and its time to lay down the electric guitar parts.

I want to send the audio through a Logic plug-in (namely, Amp Designer) in order to get that effect on the sound, but record the guitar straight into my Pro Tools session.

How could I go about it? A step-by-step would be awesome, as I'm still pretty newbie-ish. I've heard of "rewiring" but don't really know anything about it or if that would be the correct solution.

Thanks in advance!

I think the only way this would be possible is if you had 2 computers...one with logic running and the other with pro tools running.

I don't think you can make Logic a rewire slave. Honestly the best thing would be to just record in to Logic and export to Pro Tools with the effect printed, or use Pro Tools' equivalent of Amp Designer. I always liked Digidesign Eleven (the full version). I can't remember if you get a watered down version for free with Pro Tools or not. I preferred it to Amp Designer. Now I normally use Amplitube which I think is better than both, really amazing software. If you do a lot of this kind of treatment I'd seriously consider a 3rd Party amp designer, that will run in both Logic and Pro Tools. Guitar Rig is another, but I think Amplitube gives you more control. Sorry if it seems like a shameless plug, but really a good amp designer that will work in Logic and Pro Tools (should you ever need it to) could be a good option to have.
