dual dongles - one PC
Hi all, i have a query here i haven't found anything similar and hope someone can help a newbie out
I recently started learning on cubase 6 and have of course the eLic dongle attached to my usb. I have since had the need to use Pro Tools 10 and was kindly gifted this and installed it with its own iLok dongle so I have 2 dongles connected via 2 usb ports on my pc. However it seems only one can be utilized/initialized at one time, can anyone tell me if this is so and if so is there a way that I don't have to keep pulling the appropriate dongle in or out pending which DAW im using?? I'd have though that to each its own i put one in the other (light) goes off and lic is not recognized & DAW doesn't start & visa versa

hi i have had no problems with my steinberg key,and 2 iloks plugged in at the same time and my samplitude codemeter as well.are you using a hub or long cables?
maybe, if they are on an unpowered hub they might have power problems,a weak computer power supply can do that too....

Similar here - I don't run anything that needs iLoks, but my machine happily runs a Steinberg (eLicenser) key and a Propellerheads Ignition key (CodeMeter) together with no issues.

As already said, watch out for unpowered hubs, etc. They can sometimes cause all manner of odd things.
