optical in digi 003

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to get digital audio from my mac output (optical out) into a pro tools sessions.
I have a toslink cable going from optical out from my mac to optical in on my 003 console.

I've changed the output in mac preferences to digital and created an input in i/o under s/pdif as the input. (15/16)

I was loosely following this as a guide.

Nothing found for 200 O-and-re-wire

When i create an aux and change the input to the s/pdif I get no signal.

Basically I want the optical in on my 003 to function.

Does that make sense?

I'm kinda all over the place today.

I'm on a mac pro, pro tools 10, with the digi 003 as my hardware.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks,
hedgerocks

The optical input on a 002/003 is not the S/PDIF input. They are the ADAT 1-8 inputs. The S/PDIF ins are RCA jacks on the 00X series. Set your input to an ADAT input and it might work then.

Just out of curiosity...why are you looping audio out of the MacPro back into it??

The optical input on the 003 is indeed spdif if you set the spdif in to optical in the hardware settings. I use it that way all the time.

Guess I was thinking more default. I always use the optical as ADAT 1-8 and the RCA S/PDIF for that. Figure it's kind of a waste to turn an 8 channel input into a two channel one if I can help it.
