I'm not so sure how the API luchbox works

Hi guys! I'm new in Gearslutz, my Name is Alejandro and I'm a peruvian musician. Here is My problem:
I want to buy the API lunchbox with 2 512c preamps but I'm not sure how to connect it.
I am currently working with a Motu 8pre.
How do I connect the luchbox to my motu?
Can I connect it via the DB-25 out Directly to the adat input of the motu?
If i cant do that, what can I do? Connect the XLR out of the lunchbox to the XLR in of the motu?( if I do will I lose the API "color"?)

thabks for helping me!

Your motu converter should have a line in input that bypasses the mic pre. Your lunch box will have an xlr out. Use a xlr to quarter inch cable. After a signal leaves a mic pre it is whats called line level. Thats why you use the line in insert on the motu. If you plug it into the mic pre on the motu, you could burn up that insert. Savvy?

Thanks! For the answer, but can I use it through the Db-25 outputs to the motu adat?

ADAT is a digital signal format that is not compatible with analog signals. The DB-25 out of a Lunchbox is analog. So no go.

You will need a DB-25 break-out cable (TRS or XLR) to interface into the analog inputs of the MOTU.
