Thread Starter | Splitting A Guitar Signal To Feed Multiple Amps - Need Some Basic Info
To start off yes, there is a similiar thread here called "multiplying signals" but not enough is said. So I've got some electric guitars, I currently own two nice guitar amps, and I want send my guitar signal to both amps and record each with a mic. My question is, what do I need to know about this? Meaning, if a signal is split, is there any degradation of the signal? If so, is it just in volume and gain, or can things get muddy, can bad things happen to my tone? And if the answer to one or all of those questions is yes, what must I be aware of when picking a splitter / A B Box? Like do certain splitters / A B boxes have additional gain to offer to weakened signals? What must I consider when buying such a thing? Lastly, are there any boxes/units people suggest over others for any particular reason? Any info given on this decidedly newbie question would be greatly appeciated! Thanks. |
