Cool

Wondering will we see a new version of Pro Tools that extends the heritage of Pro Tools Mix to Pro Tools HD to Pro Tools next high-end generation. I'd like to see a Korg OASYS that can do 'everything' the Trition's, Trinity's, & O1's can do.

A new business model for Digidesign! I predict Digi is going to announce a mid-line Pro Tools system between the HD and the LE as we know them now. They will have a new rack mount FW interface (003) with great sounding convertors that supports multiple units chained together for a max of 32 analog i/o at 96k. Plus external BNC clocking, 2 channels of AES and 8 channels of SMUX ADAT at 96k. The software package will support ADC and will include the music production package along with a big plug-in bundle. Cost will be $1999 for one interface and the software. Additional interfaces for $995 each.

002 series will be discontinued and all future LE sales will be through M Audio only.

How do I know all of this? My Tarot cards told me. I read the price points in my tea leaves.

I agree - it would be an excellent move (hiring Surfkat *and* releasing an 003 with the features/prices his Tarot deck and tea leaves are predicting).

I too would like to see a new form of Logic Pro, & especially now that some form of competent tech support has been established.

I dont think DIGI is gona cheap out. They what do they tell the HD owners? people who pay 15-20g's every 5-7 years FAr outweigh people who buy a few thousand dollars worht of stuff every 5-7 years.......now if they sart getting crazy with Software upgrade costs maybee, but I seriously Doubt they will abandon the big system. And I still dont beleive a native (pt or othwerwise) system running 64-96 audio tracks and Virtual Instruments + all the othere shitty crap they shove in the platforms (HP mixer program ala cuemix on the cpu instead of a dedicated dsp, ADC, Realtime input SRC, midi control out and in all over, like all of the "middle ground PT peta Protesters" really want. It would never be as stable as an adequit HD system on a powerful machine using the cpu to run what it needs (and does well) VI, midi controler messages, increasingly processor hungry OS's, not to mention ITB vido sync and the people here (like me) who run C-Sound and/or have huge sound/patch librarys, and the hd system will do what it does best, ADC, SRC & high audio track counts without issue.

whay woould you need 32 in and out AND ADC? if your looking to use 32 chanels out of the box, to me, means you wanna mix OTB, right.

I havent gotten a V-Rack, yet, and as ssoon as I see some cool modules I can see getting a vrack and a few eq's/pre's/bussing modules and and starting there, I mean, what we ALL really want is a 44x16 surround capable tonelux with shadowmix and a couple 500 series racks thrown in that desk too, show us some cool shit, Paul, Dave, Geoff, ??? , gets our cards wet...Thats all allot of us really need, you guys know how to wine and dine us right?> I hope so.

AND I need to see a new 1604 or a new melbourne (though a 1604 is way coller IMO) show its face, please Please, PLEASE!!!!!!!

I'm way reaching here.... A NEW A-designs product

Any comments on how things at CES, & Mac World might swiftly affect, or be a cue for what might show up at NAMM.

Expect to see me drunk and stumbling around. I’m making my list of people to annoy as we speak…

Lets see now…

- take nap during MOTU demo
- spill beer at the MOTU booth after waking up
- go annoy Paul Wolf and see if there are any hot assistants at Wave distro
- spill beer at UA and say hi to Erica
- annoy Hutch at the Manley booth
- check and see if there was any booze snuck in at the Manley Booth
- Say hi to everyone at Royer
- spill beer at the Royer booth
- stumble to booth next to Royer -> Mojave spill beer there
- listen to some Digi guy tell me ‘all consoles are obsolete’
- demand to know why Peak isn’t working well with Intel Macs and the Bias booth
- spill beer while talking to my friend Dave Vincent at the Dean Guitar booth
- Say hi to Rikki Rocket someplace
- tell the guys from Noble Cooley that I like their drums

Well, that’ll get me through the first two hours.

- ALLEN

I wonder will Roland, Korg, Yamaha, Kurzweil issue any breakthru technology for MIDI based devices?

Somehow I don't think the +- 16v rails in a lunch box are going to support tube pres & eq's that require like 300v. not to mention the space & heat dissipation issues.

But then, you probably knew that already.
