McDSP Ships HD/Native Bundles

McDSP has begun shipping boxed copies of the HD and Native product lines.

McDSP HD products are full-featured versions of McDSP plug-ins supporting TDM, RTAS, and Audiosuite plug-in formats. McDSP HD products are sold individually, and in the Classic Pack HD and Emerald Pack HD bundles.

The original McDSP product line uses the same authorizations as the new HD line. Customers owning any original McDSP product can upgrade to the HD version for free by simply downloading the HD version.

McDSP Native products are full-featured versions of McDSP plug-ins supporting RTAS and Audiosuite plug-in formats. McDSP Native products are not sold individually, but are available in the Classic Pack Native and Emerald Pack Native bundles.

The HD and Native versions require Pro Tools 7.0 or later.

The new HD and Native lines, as well as the LE line, include the following major updates:

• Support for Intel-based Macs
• Improved RTAS plug-in efficiency
• Faster user interface updates and loading times
• HD Accel card optimizations

Users owning McDSP HD products can upgrade to Emerald Pack HD, or cross grade to Emerald Pack Native.

The McDSP Classic Pack HD (Native) bundle includes HD (Native) versions of Analog Channel, CompressorBank, FilterBank, and MC2000.

The McDSP Emerald Pack HD (Native) bundle includes HD (Native) versions of Analog Channel, Channel G, Chrome Tone, CompressorBank, FilterBank, MC2000, ML4000, Revolver, and Synthesizer One.

Just to mention, as one who doesn't buy many plugins, I'm all over the McDsp Project Studio deal.

It's $450 (about the price of one std. McDsp plugin) and includes:

Analog Channel LE
Chrome Tone LE
CompressorBank LE
FilterBank LE
ML4000 LE
Revolver LE
Synthesizer One LE

This is great for me since I do need some plugins but I like having my money in gear that weighs something.

One could do a mix with this.

All LE versions are upgradeable to full versions.

they give you the iLok.

well, flexible side-chain routing - one of the big advantages of DP/MAS and a great community - so no worries about cracks or something like that

Well, you brought up the word "standard". Most often that word is used of Pro Tools because the vast majority of studios use it, so how can VST be a the standard for plug-ins if it's not used in PT?

Just poking fun

If Colin McDowell wants to develop McDSP plug-ins for Pro Tools only, that's his choice. He's obviously not hurting for sales by going that route
