Avedis Audio R52 Rack For 500 Series Modules!

New 2 space 500 series rack from Avedis Audio to be announced at AES!

Features:

- Compatible with select & approved 500 series modules
- Internal regulated power supply w/ phatom power
- Steel chassis construction
- Machine-milled (not stamped) aluminum faceplate
- LINK switch for connecting channels
- LED power supply indicator
- Grill cutout at top to aid module connection as well as guides at the bottom

The LINK switch allows Channel 1's output to connect to Channel 2's input without cutting Channel 1's output, so you could record the 1 and 2 outputs independently. This is great if you have a preamp on Channel 1 and an equaliser or compressor on Channel 2 and want to record both signals at the same time. Once the Link is engaged, Channel 2's input is disconnected.

Very cool feature!

But, uh, where do we get vertical racks to put the thing in so we can read those new EQs' faceplates?

Thanks
Tim.

Very cool! But why call the 1-->2 feature "link"? At first glance I would assume that's for linking compressor sidechains, and find it confusing. I think the little arrow alone is a better indicator of what the feature does.

I disagree. It made sense to me right away (but I didn't know that you still get the un affected ouput of channel 1 as well).

I think most people will be using these with a mic pre, and either an EQ or compressor. I'm going to be putting an A Designs P1 and PEQ into one of these, and I think it will be a really cool setup.

SERIES might have been a better word than LINK, but either way it's a cool idea. Has the price been annouced yet?
