Hey - let's tack the word 'valve' in front of something and make millions! Yipee!

I'm sure the TL Audio guys are in Beaumont Sur Mer right now sipping champagne and watching the girls swim in the Mediterranean.

Edit: It’s been brought to my attention that some products in the ‘Fat Man’ range are actually made and designed in Taiwan, with the TLA badge being added here. If that’s the case with the guitar amps, I apologise for any inference that TLA’s representatives were ‘snooping’ around Theo’s works – they may have actually been looking to license something.

Here's an interesting one for you...

TLA have a new range of guitar amps.

Some of you may be familiar with Theo Argiriadis's Guitar Amps

So anyway, I was talking to Theo a few weeks back and he told me he'd been talking to TLA's marketing arm, "The Opposition Group", about possibly licensing a design or suchlike.

About 6-8 weeks after the meeting, TLA release a Guitar Amp...

Now, I'm not suggesting TLA have stolen anyone's ideas, but the question is begged: what the hell were they doing snooping around Theo's amps?

Sure, all OEMs like to keep abreast of competition, but to pay the OEM a visit in person, under the guise of being interested in licensing a design?

Anyone smell fish?

I also have it on good authority that certain persons approached TLA a while back with a view to them designing and assembling a hybrid SS / valve-based DJ mixer that retailed for around a thousand quid... Said company were quoted an astronomical amount to design said mixer and the deal fell through...

I wasn't but thanks for the link! Worth checking out...

-bout TLA... i'm probably one of the few persons on this board who likes some of their stuff, and i'm talking about their blue range like the VTC and C1.

Being a dj myself i doubt their DJ-mixer is going to take off though, i wouldn't like to have a smeary "tube sound" on the 2buss. Not in a club or anything...

Personally i think Allen & Heath can't be beaten in when it comes to DJ-mixers. And i know i'm not alone in that statement.

I think the C1 is great! I DI stuff with it, different flavour of pre's and a useful comp for certain things. No "tacked on valve" label for me. Couldn't care less. It just sounds fine.
