Good News! Digidesign.com has setup iLok trials of its software plugins!!

now you can demo the Bomb Factory / Digidesign ( X-Form etc ) plugins with an iLok account for 14-days!!

(for awhile there there was no demo possible)!!

I did iLok demos of all their plugins at least a year ago. The process was very convoluted, and I didn't think it was possible, but someone at the DUC explained it to me. I would have never figured it out.

What's kinda sad is that I didn't like any of them except for voce spin, which I love.

Um, I have no idea what the process was back then, but when I read your comment, I was intrigued, so I went to their website...

...it's amazingly simple (now, at least). You just go to the webpage of whatever Digi plug-in, click the "download" tab, and there's a button called "Activate Now." In the pop-up window that appears, you type in your iLok ID, and click submit– just like that the demo auth is in your account!

The way it used to be was Byzantine. You logged in at Digidesign.com on the page of the plugin you wanted to demo. Then you downloaded it, then installed it, then you'd start Pro Tools. While the splash screen was up, the auth. window for that plugin would appear. You'd have to click through the auth window until you get to thedemo page which would open the browser and you'd be taken (I think) back to digidesign.com where you'd log in and the authorization would complete.

Once it was auth'd it was fine, but I would have never figured it out for myself.

Check out the BF Voce Spin plugin. You have to read the manual, because it's only got a fast/slow switch but it's extensively editable with the automation parameters.

It's the closest thing to a Leslie without buying a Leslie.
