| There is an omni cap available from Peluso. Yes, it can be ordered as a matched pair. I don't believe so.. But, he usually makes one for every mic that's sold. |

But, the capsule & circuit are Peluso designs made here in the U.S., and the tube is an EF732, compared to the other units. So, it may look the same but it's different inside. | |

| Any idea how these compare with the Groove Tubes GT-44/AM-40? They have approximately the same size capsule (.75" for the GT and .709" for the Peluso). At a quick glance, it appears the Peluso has somewhat better specs, but I'm not sure how that translates in practical application. I have a couple GT-44/AM-40s and have been quite happy with them.

| Still need a frequency response graph. Went to the site & none of his mic's show a freq. response graph. This would be very helpful. Can't imagine buying any mic without seeing its freq. response graph first. Thanks - Matt |

| Yeah, it looks like it might also have roll off and pad switches on the collar like the GT-44. The tubes are: GT-44 uses GT6205-M -- a Mil Spec sharp cutoff RF pentode. European equivalent is an EF734. GT uses these in its tube mics and in the instrument input of the Vipre. I think these are also used in M-Audio tube mics (probably built by GT --surprise!). Peluso uses EF732 -- a sharp cutoff RF pentode. US equivalents are 5840 and 5901 tubes. Near as I can tell, this is a pretty commonly used tube in modern tube mics (e.g., Soundeluxe, Telefunken). I don't know enough about these tubes to meaningfully compare and contrast, although they appear similar. Perhaps one of the gurus on the board can chime in.

| Guys... they're all the same metal work. That's it. The mic bodies come from China. It's completely different inside (capsule, tube, circuit, etc). |

| Gear addict | I just surprised it took this long for SD tube mics to be copied. I have a pair of neumann km54s and some 'Hungarian' schoeps 221b mics. I use them all the time and they're wonderful. |
