Myspace music store

Looks like a good thing for the indy bands/artists if the percentages work out:

Good, maybe some of those fokkers will finally have some real $$...

The Format is a killer band btw, if you don't know. Check out their song "The first single".

Yeah. I don't know how successful it will be, but certainly, it will have a big, and probably negative, impact on other competitors such as CD Baby.

Good for independents! Back in the www.mp3.com heyday (back when it was a site for independents), I made about $25,000 off of downloads and CD sales (doing nothing but on-site banner ads for promotion). Then once tech stocks crashed, they wanted me to pay them for the "right" to post music on their site. Maybe this will tip the hat back towards musicians.

I think it would be huge! Bands on myspace have easy access to thousands of fans, and selling music online there would be better than somewhere like itunes, IMO. You can contact your fans/fav artist directly, versus itunes where you have to search for them, etc. There is a lot more personal interaction there.

BTW, someone I met on myspace started this site that is more focused on engineer/producers/etc. It's like myspace, but for our industry people. Check it out, sign up if you wish. It's new, so it's building up :)

I do like the Fact that the Artist get to decide the Price ,

buy 2 get one free , buy 6 get the rest of the CD/songs for free ... so-on...

its not fixed like itunes, I must keep on top of this One.
