Rumors about new Tascam US-2400 with leds

surfing on the net I discovered a forum where someone said he'd talked with Tascam people, and they told him they were going to release a new version of the control surface US-2400, with some add-ons (one of them led for every channel!!!).
Due to come out late this fall at 1600 USD.

Anyone???

here's the post:

"I was under the impression after talking with a Tascam support tech (if there is such a thing) that they weren't discontinuing it, but changing the design slightly and adding an LCD screen to each channel as well as other add-ons."

sounds like just what the Dr. ordered. That is if it at least has the all the edit buttons the FW1884 has with Leds and meters too! Keep the surround panner as well and all is well.

Oh and a decent footprint. It needs to have a pro feel like the Control 24.

I'd pay 1600 for that! I'd pay 2k for that.

If this is the case...

...They still ain't got it right, they need the SCRIBBLE TEXT.

Gotta have it like the Mackie control.

Hey,
Anyone who knows something more "inside"?
Seems a little "fake" to me...

This is great news if it's true... the new model sounds perfect for my needs!!!

Assuming the faders are the same as on the old model, what are they like - does anyone have any experience with the Tascam faders???

Cheers - Rez

I own US-2400 and faders are simply fantastic.
Smooth and silent, good feel and nice look.

though the thread title says LED, the quoted studio-central post says LCD. if it's not a scribble strip, then i don't know what the heck tascam would be thinking.

I emailed them and they said there's no update. They might just be playing their cards close to their chest though.

Fingers crossed. The rumoured new 2400 sounds perfect for me!!!

Maybe its just an entirerly new unit! Let's speculate about this. 24 ch/scribble strips/ stereo meters on each channel/ and the surround panner too!

not to cold down any dream...
I am just wondering if anyone out there knows something about it...FOR REAL.
To be more specific: true or fake? The Tascams aren't renowed for being smart and agressive on the market...US-2400 owners should know it. It took 2 years for a release of the software that allowed steinberg users to work with it.
Since the news would be "fundamental for my way studio", I would like to know if there is someone who is really informed about this rumor.

Wow... I'd love to get in on that deal! I can't find one new for less than a grand. Is that a special somewhere?

Sorry dude. It`s just me and a friend going dutch (what the hell does that mean anyway?) on a digi bundle where he gets the 002R unit, all the software (inkluding some pricey plug-ins, a microphone and some more stuff, and I get the Command 8 Unit. Several norwegian digi retailers are running this bundle at aprox 1600$. And we decided upon going dutch since he has a C8 already and wants the rest of the stuff, and I have the rest of the stuff and only want a C8 :)

Maybe digi is having this bundle in your country as well? I know they`re running it in norway and sweden. The sweedish deal has even more stuff than the norwegian one. (some small home-studio monitors included too..)
