It's going to cost you $600 to upgrade?!? Hmmm...I wonder if it would be cheaper to wait and then just crossgrade from V8 to V9

Oh, well...600 in Sequoia dollars equals roughly 267.4 in Samplitude dollars, so you're making out ok I guess.

you can preorder at synthax..just go to their website and fill out the upgrade form. http://www.synthax.com/upgrade.html

As soon as they get the software in, they will contact you for payment info. Alternatively, you could also prepay for your upgrade through our secure web store, located here: http://synthax.com/shop/

Thanks...I should have mentioned that I don't currently own a version of Samplitude. Is there a way to preorder in that case?

Just got the package containing the SAM 9 upgrade. I don't like the new look of the packaging and manual, but oh well. Off to the studio computer to install!

I'm really liking the new plugins, especially the Variverb and Amphibia.

Many improvements in various areas. The added options in elastic audio are great and help to remove uneeded keystrokes. The new audio engine sounds wonderful.

There are a few little bugs that I think will be addressed in a maintainence update. Overall, it's a very nice move forward. I'll report more as I spend more time on it.

Then donīt buy it and wait until these guys got to finally fix these basic requirements ( unless you like nerving work arounds ).
In the end they know how handicapped this feature is since so many years, yet canīt be bothered to bring that to order. Instead they concentrate on new gimmicks all the time, just like if such a bug was negligible.

Which to me at least it clearly isnīt, and I wonder whatīs up with all these users who make before each and every update as if they wouldnīt need usable track automation. ( After all itīs so messed that I chose to use no track automation. Imagine. ) And as if they never needed self-evident features in the past anyway. No side-chaining ( let alone side chaining for basic function like simply volume triggering ), no decent routing, losing settings when you jump between different mixer memories or other general mixer parameters ...

I at least prefer a humble but throughout accomplished tool box to a heap-of-elements swiss knife with a bunch of unusable basic parts just to make the feature list on the package longer.

Donīt get me wrong. It is Samplitude for me, despite of outrageous update fees ( I donīt care how you might think it justifyable. It remains completely over the roof to squeeze 250 € out of your customers every year again and to even penalize them on top with yet more if they decide to skip and update at the next round. The more as they have a huge client base meanwhile and wouldnīt need that screwing ) and despite of these annoying bugs and lacks that didnīt or donīt get fixed year after year again.

I donīt understand the user base that takes all that crap as if it was just natural to have it that way.

Is it natural? Are my working routine and demands unique? I thought them to be just corresponding to studio needs.
Whaddsup?

Ruphus
I'm still using 7.2, ver 8 and the upgradeed midi implimentations were not something I need or wanted.... the upgrading pricing scheme to get to V9 is rediculous at best...
as for the rest of your post, I am in complete agreement with everthing you are saying, and these is more, much more that is shaky....

Not that you couldn't do it before, it was just part of the object model of working. With more and more folks coming from other DAWs using Samplitude and Sequoia, there has been a need to incorporate other [more traditional] workflows.
