I love samp & have used it for a few years now. I cant wait for v. 9 to arrive in the states.

Also, to the person talking about saw, I used saw for quite some time. Seriously, samp is far ahead. Not to mention the look of saw-it is ugly as all hell. People used to come into the studio & look at it (the screen) like we were crazy!!!

I read somewhere that it would be $250 from 8.3 Pro to 9 pro. Don't quote me on that though.

In my opinion, SAW sounds better to me than Samp v8. Does the new "hybrid audio engine" in v9 make any attempt to improve upon the quality in v8?

the sound thing is a joke. On top of that, SAW is ugly as hell.

You can quote me on that!

Well, I actually I am quoting Tom Sailor from Synthax in saying that it will be 250 to upgrade.

New manual, new dongle...

Any word on when it's coming out? I was under the impression that it's the German version being released in September and the English version would follow at some point??

New Manual, but new authorization on the dongle. If you are upgrading from 8.3, you will just have to reauthorize. If you upgrade from version 7, then you'll have to get one of the new dongles.

Tom told me it would be an entirely new dongle, even coming from V8 pro(which I have)

I think they both sound good, though I like to use Samp for my left overhead drum mic and SAW for the right and sometimes I'll throw SAW on the G string of my nylon guitar and then I import all that into an 8 year old version of Cool Edit Free which I use for everything else...

I think you got some misinformation... Check out the thread on the User's board titled "V9 Dongle, A new one?"

To Quote Volker in a post on the board July 6 "the current v8 license will be updated, to allow version 8 and version 9 running with the same Codemeter. But technically it's still just one license, so you can't use version 8 and version 9 at the same time on different computers."

To add to this- Sequoia has always had a dongle. The only time we got a new one was when they switched to the Codemeter technology. All other upgrades just required reauthorization.

Good deal. Less hassle for me. I wonder how much I am going to have to pay to upgrade Sequoia..I know samp is 250.

i dont need far beyond effects that im harldy going to use. but daily things like FULL AUTOMATION is a must. it's kind of scary that a software, that calls himself professional, starts to support this common feature in version 9 !!!

that was also the reason why we chose logic. we were missing full automation. and now we won't switch again, because logic gives us everything that we need and more. in other words samplitude doesn't feature anything that we urgently need that isn't supported by logic.

The upgrade from Sequoia 7 to 8 was $500. Samp 7 to 8 was $250... I'd say you should expect similar pricing.

Then keep using logic. im sure itll be fine for your electronica/dance music. I dont care if you switch or not, personally. You dont work in my studio, so you can use T-racks if you want.

IN MY OPINION, Samplitude/Sequoia are the cream of the crop for my work.

Hmm, The one thing Logic lacked in comparison was Sound Quality!!!

But, to each his own.

next time,

Samp/Sequoia will start shipping around the 25th or maybe the 31st of august, in just a little while from now.
For me it did not matter to much that Samp did not have extensive Automation, because it had Object orientated editing, which with a little cleverness it can be used just as effectively as Aux send automation, but since my work is a lot simpler i don't need that type of automation, but others do, so now they will have it in V 9 plus aux send automation at the object level, i want to see any other Daw come up with any thing that is as clever as that.

Sinewave.
If they fo add AUZ Send automation in the Object Editor.. then No one out here now can beat that... samplitude will be un-stoppable! Thats all!!

Cant wait to se it in action!!
