Looking forward to seeing where this leads. Imagine if SSL did a whole studio "system"

Imagine?

Looks like a reality!

Interesting development!

Soundscape has a very good reputation

As a longtime Soundscape user I can say that it is a great system, but I dont think SSL will be developing their own DAW as Sydec Audio Engineering (who developed Soundscape) are the same company and are not being "taken"over, as was the case with "mackie" a few years ago.
SSL may actually make a DAW but as far as I know soundscape will remain the same with hopefully developments being made by SSL to augment the system.
Like hopefully:
SSL plugins, dedicated controllers and front end peripherals.
Im happy that people are talking about Soundscape becasue most of my clients dont know what it is and I have to explain that it is as good (actually better...biased) than Pro Tools:-)

I will bet this is re-named under a SSL marketing plan to push Soundscape in the USA.

I remember in 1999 i met a well known British producer that came by the studio and played some ultimatley incredible mixes done all ITB on soundscape. I remember thinking, "what the hell is that sh*t".. but yes after looking into the system, i can say i feel Soundscape is the best DAW in the world.. only problem is the industry in the USA dont use it...

Now that SSL is in the picture, if they produce a line of products to compete with ProTools...

Bye Bye Digi

I thinik you're right!!

Hey DigitalDrugLord!1

I think you just brought a point there and I think it is a good one because i remember too when PARIS (by Ensoniq was in the market or existed even if until today some people and major producers and even me still has it), i think Soundscape has the kind of same Sounding Engine as PARIS and for me, only tlaking for myself, if tomorrow morning someone , a reach guy with an amazing TEAM would want to bring back PARIS with all new updates etc.. of course the only thing they would not have to change would eb the SONIC ENGINE of it, trust me , i would be one of the first guyz to BUY IT with my eyes folded!!

And yes you're right, if SSL is behind, it might be very intresting.. now lets see where this will go....

Peace

I second that.. Paris is my go too baby (DAW) when my fanny is on the line to deliver the big analog sound without the SSL budget..

I wish EMu had not droped the product line as well as ID(Intelligent Devices) aka Steven St Croix(Rest In Peace) & Edmund Parelli were team up with a DSP manufacturer to get PAris back out into the market..Id buy in a heart beat..

I think this new SSL development is great. I nver used Soundscape , but I underdstand that it's editing and sound is in par with Samplitude & SeQuoia..

SSL is really asserting themselves as a Major Player (once again) in the DAW recording scene.. Welcome..SSL.... Big Thumbs Up..

Now, if only Yamaha can get off their !@#Sss and see some ground breaking new synery products with Cubase & Nuendo.. It's benn (what) 3 years and no dedcated controller for those DAWs..Nothing but some "chessy" usb micro mixers.. Man Yammy is really sucking bigtime these days..

looks like these guys are going after digi sooner than later. looky here:

http://www.sydec.be/Products/Details...iBox+MADI-HD2/ read 'quick facts' and toward the bottom of the page where it says 'freedon is priceless'.

remember AES a coupla years ago when the digi booth said: 'we're in the large format console business now...'?

three guesses what this year's SSL booth is going to say...
