Digidesign present HD 7.2 at KMR Audio evening, London, UK 25th May 2006

Digidesign evening at KMR Audio, London UK 25th May 2006

The KMR showroom in North London plays host to staff and equipment from
Digidesign on 25th of May 2006 starting at 7:30pm.

Digi staff will be presenting a demonstration of Pro-Tools 7 software, HD
processing and hardware and their fantastic D-Command system. A full
question and answer session will conclude the evening. This is THE
opportunity for Tools users to gain extra knowledge on the depths and
intricacies of THE recording platform, or to ask questions live in a
responsive and friendly atmosphere. It is also ideal for those thinking
about making the upgrade or taking the plunge to HD. The KMR special offer
of including away a Crane Song Phoenix plug in with every new HD system or
upgrade will be ending after the evening.

KMR are renowned for these evenings, having hosted dedicated seminars from
manufacturers such as SSL, Neve, Microtech Gefell, Soundfield as well as
presentations on microphone techniques and acoustic treatment. KMR will put
on a comprehensive and appetizing spread including wines, beers and soft
drinks for the drivers. There will be plenty of time to mingle with fellow
professionals/amateurs/voyeurs before and after the presentation and after
the Q+A session, and also provides a great opportunity to drool over the
racks of shiny outboard on show that compliment HD systems so well.

Just back from this first UK showing of PT HD 7.2

Some cool new features..

Groups - much easier way to select tracks to add to group (drag across from drop down menu)
"Link plug in parameter's' - so if you think ALL the backing vocals could do with a little HF boost, link the plug ins in that group - then tweaking ONE tweaks them ALL!

Automation (lots new going on)

Including the ability to punch "paste" in and out while playing - so a telephone voice for example - just copy the automated 'changed' section then punch in and out when you want it on another vocal line..

Trial plug in automation - test it - then if you like it 'go live' with it.

"VCA" groups - so that is like an aux without audio passing through it.. mix grouped faders don't all HAVE to be linked (you know, the touch one and they all move deal) in VCA group mode the VCA master moves em up and down, but they are all individually free..- not locked together as a group..

Also - some big hints at Apple Care style support packages to come.... - buy different levels of long term tech support.

Great food and drinks were laid on by the KMR crew, thanks!

I definitely spend most of the time gazing at the equipment when I visit KMR. It's very slutty as far as shops go. Funky Junk has even more slutty stuff, but most of it's vintage. I spent a very long afternoon just looking around the first time I went to Funky Junk. Racks of gear look cool no matter where they are.
