McDsp Revolver LE?

Not a mention of this on the website except for this chart that compares the functionality of Revolver vs Revolver LE.

This would mean you can get in for $200 and upgrade to full version at any time.

I just downloaded the demo version of Revolver (not LE). It sounds great and has high tweakability-factor. The demo only comes with about 50 IRs however. Did anyone of you check out the IRs that come with the shipped package ? Must be over 300, but how do they sound ?

Importing other IRs doesnīt seem to be very comfortable with Revolver, so itīs nice to know something about the quality of the factory IRs...

Thanks,
Bill

I can't wait to hear some reviews of the revolver LE, as I'm in pretty desperate need for a decent ITB verb......actually I'm in pretty desperate need for some decent plugz. been using the free digirack plugz for a while now. And I'm leaning towards this new McDSP project studio bundle, seems to have just a little bit o' everything for under $500!

To me it sounds very nice. I used a medium room on a drumloop and it sounded like it had been recorded in this very room. I know, this is what IR reverb is about, but here it definately works. Most of the responses are very good sounding as well.

The overall sound I get so far (I downloaded the demo like six hours ago) is clear and bright, but because of the nature of IR reverbs, this depends heavily on the IRs used.

I got good results on a lot of sources, i.e. (midi)piano and guitar. Vocal was ok, too, but so far not the rev I wouldīve chosen.

Like I said, the tweakability is all there. The two delay lines almost make this thing a multi fx box and you can tailor the sound to your liking. If you have a response thatīs almost there, you can put it in the right spot by a little amount of finetuning.

It is a little buggy though since sometimes the IRs donīt change, when you try to dial in a different one. Plus thereīs a little latency issue : when I tried to compensate for latency by choosing long latency in the Playback Engine dialog, the timing of my PT session was all over the place (esp. with midi). I donīt know, if that is a PT related problem, or revolver related since I use short latency compensation most of the time.

Regards,
Bill

I've been putting off upgrading to PTLE 7 since my system is currently so trouble free; but Revolver might be just the thing to put me over the edge.

I like the idea that they've concentrated on modeling hardware reverbs instead of actual spaces. I'm trying to learn to love reverb! Really!

I think since this guy is mac only, i'm gonna bit it and buy wizooverb. but everytime i look at it a voice keeps telling me.

"Digi owns TL too... W2 dosen't come as a part of an upgrade bundle... it's gonna get discontinued...."

i know it.

Hey man check out WaveArts plugs. I downloaded demo's of their version 4 stuff a year ago and didn't really like them at all. They totally redid the plugs and man the difference is night and day. I just took a chance and bought all of them and they're badfreakinass. Masterverb5 is really nice for under 200 bucks and Trackplug5 is a 10 band eq, gate, 2 compressors, and a limiter all in one plug in. And you can use any combination of the eq/gate/comp/limiter. Another extremely useful plug for under 200 bucks. Go download the demo's, they're full working versions.

Are the wavearts toold really this good in the new version?

And for the McDSP I must admit that I am very sad to see that these guys do so incredible stuff, but du not convert it for the VST, AU worlds. We would also love to use them! Perhaps I have to return to my old Pro Tools, but the hardware exchanges are so expensive!
