Calder Guitar Case - Final Design for the Ultra

We've finalised the design of the Calder Ultra guitar case.
You can see a picture of a full size wooden model at the link below.
In production the wood shell you see here will be replaced by a carbon fibre inner shell covered with high tech fabric zipped skin.
Very light - under 8lbs, very strong.

If you guys have time to check this out and give me your comments I'd be grateful.

We've cut the design back to the bone - made it look fit for purpose - simple and strong.

First models will be for electrics and basses. Production starts Jan 06.
Price in the order of $800.

My comment is you would be insane not to present Eric Clapton with a freebie (then ask for a photo) ZZ Top too!

Unless you are in serious financial straights the price is too high.

Let me explain a little more about the Calder Ultra.

The Ultra is our flagship case.
The Ultra is hand built by British craftsmen using premium materials - carbon fibre/Kevlar and top grain leather.
The Ultra is aimed at guitarists with high value instruments - $10,000 +.

Pricing at $800 (and upwards depending on leather etc) reflects the quality of the product, the materials used and skills required to built it.

Next year we aim to develop a case which provides high levels of protection using less expensive materials and construction techniques.
