| Moderator | Korg Digital Edition Legacy Collection http://news.harmony-central.com/Newp...igital-Ed.html Nice collection of synths for $199... I like that the M1 comes with all the optional sounds too. |

| Cool, M1 and Wavestation. I wanted the Wavestation in the Legacy collection, but I had not much use of the other two synths so I passed. Now I'm buying ![]() |

| Legacy....damn good In the process of upgrading my gear, one of my mates bought the Legacy kit and I went round for a demo. As an 'old head' from the 80's I've been through loads of synth gear and seeing/ hearing the MS, Polysix & Wavestation, was very impressed. For the price, it's great. I remember using the Polysix (and Monopoly & Poly61m), but was never to keen on the Korg gear, prefering Roland. But now, harking back, these soft-synths are really good. The midi response is great (via a M-Audio Audiophile 24-96, AMD2.6/400FSB Mobo/512Ram), with a good full blown master keyboard, close your eyes and hark back to the 80's! I have tended to use more Softs now and go down the digital route, and don't touch 5 of my 6 external midi synth keyboards (using only one as a master KeyB), but won't sell them due to the low market price. I even considered buying some old gear via auction sites, but for the hassle of storage space, power consumption and fiddling with 'little screens', I have dampened down my 'gear lust' for old synths. But with a new comp build on the way, softs are the way to go (via Cubase SX for me) and the Legacy is on the shopping list to buy. I'd now like to see some Casio CZ softs to replace my old beast of a CZ1. (-: Simply, for home production/song writing these are great inspiring tools, for me (electronica/acoustic/deep house), they're to be part of a great sonic arsenal. With soft synths so cheap, buy the lot (FM1, Pro-5, Legacy etc, etc). Enough typing, time for some music. Paul B |
