| I only had about 3 minutes to test it, but it's the first VST plugin in like 6 months that caused crackle in my sound. Looks like I can't use this plugin with my ASIO setting on 7ms. Will try 10ms later today and I hope it will work without a problem, so I can finally find out how it sounds! ![]() |

| That is definitely not right... I'm getting no crackles here even at 0.7 msec (32 samples) latency. What are your system specs, what host, and what does a CPU meter display? Thanks, -- dj! |

| Did you update to 1.0.1 from our download page? There was a silly bug in 1.0 that caused the AU to report a wrong latency. Take care, -- dj! |

| I'm on 1.01 as well and Logic is not compensating for the latency |

| I hope I'm not stating the obvious here but 1.0.1 definitely (I just checked again to make 100% certain) fixes the latency issue in Logic 8 here so... could you verify that Preferences > Audio > General > Plug-In Delay > Compensation is set to "All", and that the version info at the bottom of the Redline EQ window states "version 1.0.1"? Also perhaps a rescan from Preferences > Audio Units Manager might make Logic update its latency info--it shd do this automatically but hey... -- dj! |

| Oops!!! SO SORRY. 1.0.1 indeed fixes it in LP9. I must have downloaded the update but never run it again. So stoked. This eq is awesome. |

| The latency thing is fixed but I'm still getting a drop in level. -2.5dB now. |

| The latency is still off and not compensated. This occurs when universal track mode is off. I also hear a level increase when soloing a track containing the redline EQ Tonally I really like what I am hearing. Does broad strokes very well! Jazztone |

Next week I have more time to do some serious testing. I will let you know how it goes! (I'm using Cubase 4 on WinXP 32bit with 2GB ram.)

But boosts or cuts will indeed affect the harmonic distortion generated--the distortion section is pre-EQ. Also the Cutoff control changes the harmonics generated: with the control at max up all frequencies generate equal harmonics, while at lower settings the harmonics are attenuated with 6dB/oct above the cutoff frequency. Does that make sense? :) -- dj!

| ! Ahh, it was just me. I think I was some combination of hopeful and addled. Yes, your info clarifies a geat deal. Thanks! If you could clarify something else for me -- I'm having trouble getting my puny Earth brain to wrap around the concept of how a single mono signal could be out of phase with itself, or rather how your instantiation of the phase shift adjustment knob works exactly. It was my -- possibly somewhat limited -- understanding that phase only has relevance for me when two identical or near identical signals are out of phase with each other (god knows I've fought this in EGs and drum overs for centuries thanks to my genius engineering). But I'm not getting how adjusting the phase on a single mono source can be of use to me. Could you spell that one out for me, please? If there's -- yet ANOTHER -- huge area of mixing I've yet to even recognize after presumably doing this for years...I can only say, "Oh goodie." ![]() At any rate, quite an interesting plugin. Strikes me as a definite step in the evolution of plugin quality. It can indeed sound pleasingly thick and "analogish" on some sources. It will take a while to explore all the combinations of its features, but I'm having fun doing so. Cheers. ![]()

| Any standard EQ boost or cut creates a phase shift, as it's essentially the basis of how your standard EQ functions. On mono signals it creates frequency related phasing effects, so the track does in fact phase with itself across different bands. This is why the 'phase shift' control is great on ALL sources! Just trying this thing out and I'm really impressed so far. It might well topple the Sonnox EQ as my workhorse. It seems to really be taking things a step forward and giving people a bit of everything they want in a very versatile package. There is only one suggestion that I would put forward, and it's strictly a workflow/speed related one. The 'Alt' modifier that makes the mouse change Q instead of Gain on the graphic display would be great if it locked off side-to-side movement so that you can't accidentally knock off to the side of the band you zero'd in on whilst adjusting quality factor. It would also be fantastic if the right mouse button was re-purposed to be the Q adjuster instead of having to use both hands to hold down the modifier key and use the mouse, much as the Sonnox EQ does. That's one of the very small things that makes the Sonnox EQ so very usable for me... the fact that you can do just about anything you want on the graphic display with your mouse and two buttons. If you sort out these two issues and get the EQ's workflow to match its feature set, it would be a stock standard, work-horse EQ without match. Great work! PS. Could you please tell us, do the different EQ models adjust the type of harmonic distortion that's generated, or do they solely alter the shape of the bell curves? Is this something that can be done via using the right-click menu to adjust the cut and boost shapes, or do the EQ models bring something unique to the table? |

| Hey Guys, Is anyone else getting a loud Click/Pop with the EQ when instantiating, uninstantiating, changing parameters, changing presets and closing (quitting) a session with the EQ plug-in being used in the session? I'm seeing this in PT, Logic and Peak Pro. Thanks very much! PowerMac G5 DualCore 2.3 (PPC) with 8GB of RAM, Tiger 10.4.11 Digidesign Digi 002 (Console), Pro Tools LE 7.4cs10 Logic Pro 7.2.3 Peak Pro 5.2.1 |

| Gear nut | Hi, I think this EQ is beautiful... the only think I wuold like to see is a more precise and visible spectrum analyzer! like the one in the apeq... anyway, I think I'll buy it. ![]() |

| Love it. I just hate Fls manual delay compensation Would be nice with a non LP version with ^no^ delay...I love the harmonic distortion part, and hitting it hard sounds great! the ^Gentle Mastering^ preset blowed me away inserted on a bus with pads and synths... glued it together real nicely, and just made it fit |

| Yes I also got a very loud pop when changing parameters. VERY loud. I had to stop as I was scared I'd lose my monitors. :( Stef |

| I had some problems with many instances, the project would load very slow, and then before fully loaded, there would come strange wobbly glitchy sounds for half a minute (!) and then the project would load and all is good. Weird tough |

| Please try new vst beta build at 112dB redline eq forum. This is one fine eq that needs your feedback. I now use only glorious Reper v3.1 as my DAW consequently can only give feedback from that angle. Personally your feedback is important to me coz I've already paid for the thing and so wanna make sure it works. |

| That's great. Thanks for listening to the userbase. I was only playing around with it, but I might have to give it a serious look now! |
