Also - would it be possible to make a breakout box with maybe 2-4 headphone jacks for use in tracking? Or would you recommend just hooking up the pre-existing headphone out to a headphone distrib box?

Regarding the extra phone output jacks... I would recommend that you get our "link out" breakout box. That will give you a additional L/R mix signal that can be connected to your headphone distro box while still retaining the main mix output connectors of the X.Sum.

| Clarify my post(?)... or the answers the the questions posed? If the latter, Vince did answer the questions to post #24 in this thread. I just wasn't using my noggin. You were already on the right path. Connecting 2 x 1/4" cables to the L and R inputs of a single, stereo X.Sum channel (either a stereo signal or two mono signals) and leaving the "mono" button up/disengaged will allow you to "balance" between the two signals using the pan control. The signals remain in their in their respective positions in the stereo field (l or r), and , for instance, moving the pan control to the left will cause the right signal to lessen. (Which is how you accomplish your VOX goal in post #19.) In order to "pan" two signals connected to the L and R of a single , X.Sum stereo channel, hit the "mono" button and start panning and/or adjusting the level of the summed signal. The summed signal. In order to have individual, fully-independent panning control and level control of two mono sources (or individual pan/gain controls of the L and R of a stereo signal), you would need to use 2 X.Sum stereo channels. Connecting to 1L and 2L, for example. Cheers. BTW- It was nice speaking with you, Vince. Thanks for the low-down on the specs. |
