Waldorf Blofeld keyboard about to be replaced!?

musiciansfriend.com is showing the Blofeld Keyboard as "Clearance" and "Limited supply." This is a product that has just started shipping! Do they know something we don't?

The price they are selling it at ($1199) is the same everybody else is advertising at (Sweetwater, etc.), so it isn't really a clearance price. Additionally, other retailers show the MSRP as $1399, so MF's indication that their $1199 price is $500 off a list of $1699 is misleading.

Clearly advertising hype.

Is it possible that it's a clearance item at every store? As in no longer being made.

Keep in mind that there's list price, then MSRP, then the "sale" price. What amazes me is that Sweetwater isn't also referencing the list price on their website to show what you're "saving."

I doubt that it's no longer being made, since they just started making it, but who knows? Maybe Musician's Friend has dropped the line and are clearing out what they have...

When it was first announced the list price was $1699, so Musician's Friend may just not have updated that yet (accidentally or not...Guitar Center lists $1699 as well but shows the keyboard as "new", not closeout). And Sweetwater does show the list price at $1399.

Maybe MF has had lots of defective Blofeld Keyboards returned

There's no way this is discontinued. Many people have been waiting for this keyboard for a long time, meaning there is a good demand for it and it's been shipping. All you see is marketing strategy from those companies.
